The packaging can vary as much as the product being sold. It can be designed to be end item storage for the consumer after the purchase, such as a pouch, case or tray. It can be designed to highlight key characteristics of an item and showcase the features and benefits at the point of sale, such as a clamshell modified for the consumer to touch the product. Packaging can be a printed piece either cut to the shape of the product or much larger than the actual product to provide the platform to highlight features and benefits. Whatever is selected it must protect your product at the point of sale, hold up to store traffic and handling abuse, highlight your product, and give the consumer the information they are looking for to drive them to make the purchase.
